LGA1150 vs LGA1151

I'm upgrading my cpu to i7 and what worries me in picking the model are the sockets. I have 16gb of 1600Ghz ddr3, which I couldn't use with LGA1151, so I'd had to put an extra 140€ to my upgrade due to requiring 16b of ddr4. But If I buy LGA1150 and will later need to upgrade to ddr4, I'd need to buy both new CPU and motherboard. So, is it realistic to worry that I might need to upgrade to ddr4 or some other features manufactured only to LGA1151 motherboards in the next few years? Would LGA1151 be worth the extra costs in long term?

And you can sell the old RAM. And the motherboard and CPU. Reinvest that into your new build.

I'd keep it simple and buy the 7700K with a Z270 board.
