I had to trade out the Z170 A PRO for the Z270 to avoid the BIOS issue. Just not sure if this MOBO will be good enough for the CPU and Video card. Any other input would be appreciated.

I usually assume the cooler manufacturer knows best what paste fits his cooler the most.
As for monitor, Asus description says it has better response time (tho you know how reliable those specs are :) ), so I think it would be better for gaming.
Looks good. As for mobo, they should be almost identical, aside from 'BIOS issue' and marginal things like USB 3.1 Gen 2 that Z270 have. If you were certain this particular Z170 has all you need then same model of Z270 should work for you as well.
A side note, going t overclock? If yes, you could use faster RAM (if you want).

Thanks so much for the input Speed. Yeah I was going to give OC a try this time around especially with the GPU and CPU I'm getting. That's were my fear for the MOBO was seated. Also I was thinking about getting a 2 x 8 already when you brought it up. Might as well go to at least 16. My last build was 5 years ago with an AMD CPU. What paste would you recommend?

One last question was going to go with one of the following monitors and would love some input there too:

Acer G257HU smidpx 25-Inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) Widescreen Monitor

ASUS PB277Q 27" WQHD 2560x1440 75Hz 1ms HDMI DVI VGA Eye Care Monitor

Thanks again for your help!

The Acer G257HU. I was recently in the market for a monitor. Then an unexpected expense came along so I settled on a standard 1080p 60Hz monitor

. I was looking at a much more expensive monitor at first. Then I kept coming across that Acer. I just couldn't afford it.

The thermal compound that's included with that cooler is the one I recommend. Cooler Master's compound can be trusted. However at the time I built this rig I wasn't sure about that so I went with the old stand-by, Arctic Silver 5.

I see Jet. Use TRIPLE15 promo code if you haven't placed 3 orders with them yet.

I would buy the EVGA 650 G2. Good compromise between the 550W G3 and the 650W G3. Still comes with a 7 year warranty.
