MSI H110 Mobo & new Kaby Lake CPU, no video output

I purchased the following components for a media server build

MOBO: MSI H110M ECO
CPU: Intel G3930
Storage: 2x Seagate ST2000D HDD
PS: Antec Earthwatts 380W
RAM: Corsair CMK16X4M2A200C16 2x8GB DDR4
CASE: Antec P50 Case

When I boot I get no speaker beeps, the CPU LED on the MOBO flashes once momentarily and the DRAM LED stays on for about 5 seconds before turning off. The Video output LED next to them does not turn on ever. Reading through forums I thought it was a RAM compatibility issue. I tried both RAM sticks separately in both RAM slots. Tried a separate Crucial DDR4 RAM stick I had in both slots and the results were the same. I tried VGA and HDMI outputs to different monitors, still nothing.

I checked the manufacturing date of the MOBO: 04-2016

The CPU is listed as compatible on the MSI website however when I look at the the BIOS support page, the "supported next generation new Intel CPU" BIOS update was released 10-2016.

I don't have another board or CPU to try to see what the problem is.

What are my options?

The board likely did not ship with the BIOS version that supports Kaby Lake chips. You will need a skylake chip to update the bios.

Then return the H110 and get a H270 instead or find a skylake cpu to update the bios.

Some boards will let you update the BIOS without a CPU. But from what I can tell your board is not one of them. You'll have to return it or find a skylake cpu you can borrow for a few hours to do the update.

Call a mom and pop pc store and see if they can update the bios with a skylake chip and what they charge for the service.

Your motherboard is not at a bios level that will support your new cpu.
Your options are:

1. Borrow a slylake cpu to let you flash the bios to a current level.
In a similar vein, most any local pc repair shop will have such a processor and it should not cost much for their time.

2. Return the motherboard to the seller and ask for a replacement. If they sold you the cpu also, they should accommodate you.
Make it known why you need to return it so you get fresh stock.
If none is offered, buy a B250 based motherboard to be certain of support.

3. Return the motherboard to MSI claiming a defective motherboard. They should replace it with a current motherboard.

I would imagine that they do.
But, considering the time and expense to send one to them, It really would be better to have a local pc shop update the bios if it turns out to be necessary.

Yes many many users buy old motherboard version that only supports Skylake. People shall inspect more details about the Kaby Lake CPU,
