Hello,
I was looking to start another build soon and I was planning on using the EVGA DG-87 case. The only concern I have is that with all of the front IO. For the front IO connection, there is the headphone and microphone jacks, 2x USB 3.0, a HDMI out, and the USB type C connection.
Audio ports will just go to the appropriate header on the motherboard, I got that covered. The HDMI will be connected to a GTX 1070 on the left side of the case (where the cable is pre-run).
Now for the part that I am a little lost on. With the USB 3.1 type C and 3.0, will I need a motherboard with 2 or 3 USB 3.0 headers, or does the type C connection connect to a type C out on a motherboards rear IO.
I was planning on using the ASUS Z170-A LGA 1151 Motherboard.
My main concern was if this motherboard would work for all of the IO on the case itself, and if not a more detailed list of the motherboards internal or rear IO that is required to be able to use all of the case's IO.
The build was planning to consist of:
Case: EVGA DG-87
MOBO: ASUS Z170-A LGA 1151
CPU: I7-7700K'
GPU: 2x Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 8GB gaming (in SLI)
PSU: Corsair 850X
RAM: 32GB (4x8GB) Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200
Cooling: Corsair H100i
Storage: Samsung 500GB SSD, WD Black 6TB HDD
