So I am going to be building my first build pretty soon and want it to look pretty cool, It is currently white and black and i will be using rgb lights to reflect off of the white component areas. I have been looking into cpu coolers and decided that although an aio would look better I would rather not risk a leak. So it has been put down to air cooling and although i know that many people like the big heatsink coolers i do not and have to say my favorite of all the coolers are the flat on slimline ones like this which show the fan, my only concern is their ability to cool, i know their main use is for itx/matx but i am just using atx and like their looks. I will be lightly overclocking an i5 7600k, thanks

ok thanks for your answer can i ask you another question regarding that, do you know of any small heatsink coolers that might suit the build described above?

I don't know if i'm allowed to post this link here or not, to be honest.. so I hope this is okay.

It's a give and take:
The larger the heat sync, the better dissipation of heat
The larger the fan, the more air is pushed, the less of an rpm is needed.
The smaller the heat sync and fan, the higher the rpm will need to be to sustain lower temps, which will result in more noise.
If you going with any modern 4th - 6th gen i7 unlocked cpu, I wouldn't get anything too small. I see this all the time on the forum so just to give you reference point. A cooler master 212 evo paired with an intel core i7 7700k, under full load will hit between 85 - 90c and that's a decent sized cpu cooler. In this example, If you're spending that kind of money on unlocked hardware, you'll have no extra headroom for overclocking.
I have an intel core i5 2500k clocked at 5ghz and max temperatures under full load are 81c with the hyper 212 evo.

Black/White, well here are a few:

And some dinky ones, nothing against arctic, they just tend to have a lot of low cost products that work as serviceable replacements for the stock cooler.

The best slim heatsink is the Noctua NH-L9i. I have one in my server and it works very well. The fan doesn't match your color scheme, but if one were gonna let you get away with this that would be it.

However in your Color scheme the Cryorig C7 fits it, that may also let you overclock like the Noctua. like I said, don't plan on a lot.
