Good afternoon/night people of the forums,

First of all I want to thank anyone who takes the time to read this post and possibly lead me in the right direction of what I am looking to achieve. This past week I have had a change of living arrangements and am looking for on advice on setting up a little network. The main reason why I am here today looking for help is because the wireless signals, both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, are almost unusable in the back rooms where the devices are located. Speeds are great and when you are in the same room as the ATT modem/gateway, but degrades as it normally would the further you get away from it.

Anyways, I am asking if this setup i drew up would work? (https://gyazo.com/0906e7527475b770941fe8edf3c9277c)
I am going to run an Ethernet cable coming from the back of the modem/gateway, into the first back room, into a cheap tenda s105 switch. This switch is going to hardwire the pc in the room, as well as an xbox one. I want to plug in a TP-LINK 450Mbps Wireless N Access Point into the 4th port of the switch, giving a wifi signal to the smart tv in the room over, which would previously buffer every few minutes or so because the connection was so weak, and speeds had become degraded.

I would greatly appreciate any type input from anyone that knows what they are doing (as I do not), or anyone who has had a similar setup to this. Anything I should expect? Configuration being a pain? Should it actually be an easy task/ setup? Am i missing something that would make this not work?

Once again, thank you anyone who takes the time to read this as it is a little lengthy. I appreciate all you contributors!
