Move from AMD to Intel for damaged gaming system?

http://Should I move from AMD to Intel for damaged 3 year old gaming system?

I bought a good spec AMD gaming PC on eBay recently. Unfortunately it got damaged in transit by the courier. I have had the PSU and case replaced by a repair shop but then the PC crashed playing MP Arma3 online. The PC has been difficult/impossible to switch on several times, even for the repair shop. There is a flicker of power then it won't start. The repair shop are very busy and don't seem as good at diagnosing faults as I would like.

I bought it from a keen gamer who I suspect has been over clocking, since it has water cooling. Assuming the fault is motherboard and CPU? Should I bite the bullet and buy a new Intel i5 motherboard, CPU and RAM? I am wanting a medium level gaming machine to play online current games for the next few years. I don't want to waste money, max budget say £350.
Any advice welcome, Thanks

why would you want to buy hardware that is best purchase on eBay because it isn't worth the quid spend on it new, FX series AMD CPU and motherboard are old dead end hardware, dont get me wrong I do not hate AMD, I am happy Ryzen is coming out, but until then you have no AMD options than OLD hardware, FX8350 is like 180quid... truly not worth it for the performance

But its your monies to waste away.
Well a current generation i5 is more powerful than any AMD cpu on the market by some way.

However if recently purchased I would look into making a claim through PayPal assuming you used it. This sounds like a faulty, why should you have to pick up the cost to fix it.

We have got some money as compensation from the courier but not enough to cover full costs. eBay seller seemed genuine and helpful so I have decided to swallow extra costs.
The seller reckoned I would be better still sticking with AMD and saving up for the best possible graphics card rather than switching to Intel.

I don't know how much impact the graphics card has on a system compared to the CPU, RAM and motherboard?

The existing graphics card seems decent: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 6GB

Agree with this. Until Ryzen AMD CPU's are outdated and a dead end
