So I have been overclocking my FX 8320 and it' rock solid at 4.2 ghz @ 1.344 volts (2 hours on P95) on max load however whenever I try push it just a bit further (to 4.3ghz) , windows won't even boot without me having to increase voltage up to around 1.4 volts, and even then, P95 will barely run for 8 minute. OpenGl on cinebench runs perfectly @ 4.2ghz however when i try 4.3ghz my pc just freezes, no audio, no black screen or bsod, just frozen. Adobe flash content also causes my PC to lock up at above 4.3ghz.

Has my CPU or Motherboard reached a ceiling?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
It may have, try doubling the voltage to the processor when attempting the overclock. Watch the temps.

DO NOT ATTEMPT if you do not have a high voltage power supply (750w+)
