I have external hdd WD 3200BEV which works just fine on laptop with Win10 and on tv. Bet when I try to open it on laptop with Win XP it say The File Or Directory Is Corrupted Or Unreadable.
Disk is detected by its name in device manager, there are no warnings.
In disk managment hdd is also detected by it shows as an empty and raw. I'm not sure what could be the issue? The laptop is some old model of Eee PC

It did have E: letter, I changed it to Q: and didn't help, still empty raw in disk managment. But I ran chkdsk and it showed that there is ntfs file system and that there are files, same with EaseUS Partition Recovery, shows ntfs partition and that there is nothing to recover.

well, you need to format it again, looks like. make sure to use "safely remove hardware" in the system tray when unplugging the drive. not using that is how i messed up on of my drives.
