Hello I'm taking apart my AMD CPU Cooler. Keep in mind this is not the wraith cooler. I wanted to know if I could take of the fan on the cooler to clean it and the heatsink. I would like to do this well leaving the cooler on the cpu and mobo, as I have no thermal paste to reapply the cooler. I think I can do this without any problems, But if you know otherwise please help.

should be just 4 Phillips head screws holding the fan to the base ? atleast on these 2 old socket A and am2 builds I got here and some stock AMD cooler I got in a box I assume from a AM3+
remove the 4 screws and remove fan with out removing the whole cooler from the cpu -
