I'm currently using
Processor : i3 2120 @3.3 GHz
MoBo : Asus P8H61-M LX
Graphics Card : Asus Strix R9 380 OC 4G
Cooling : Liquid
Power Supply : 600+ Bronze
I know my graphics card are bottlenecking.
If I bought i5 2500k can I overclock it by using my MoBo? Most of my friend said the motherboard is not compatible for overclocking.
I tried to overclock my i3 non overclockable(I know that is impossible). and the CPU ratio is stuck at 33 not higher (I know its already the limit) but "IF" I upgraded to i5 2500k "WILL" the MoBo pass through the boost clock over 3.70 GHz and will my MoBo unlock some feature that been hidden when we're using non K cpu?
If my MoBo doesn't support overclocking,
Please help me decide to buy another processor. I'm in a budget range like under $120 for the processor. Besides of Pentium G4560 cos I planned to upgrade to that processor if the i5 is not overclockable with my MoBo
Sorry for the Long Post & Bad English,
Nicholas
