problems in closeing/disableing tp-link TD-W9970 router telnet service (port 23)

latest official firmware.

hi guys.
last time i was here you where very helpful!:)
i have an issue!
i cant close that pest!!!telnet port,opened by default.......in:
Tp-Link TD-W9970 router
port 23 is open!!!
i know that home routers doesn't provide good security but still.....
how can i do something about this port???
Tp-Link support stinks to hi heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've tried everything....i am an IT guy.
much to my disappointment......it doesn't have DD-WRT nor open wrt :(

Solution
if you have an app on the internal network that sends requests to outside on port 23 the router will automatically open the port.
just like a web browser sends requests on port 80 or 443 and the router automatically allows traffic in.

Most consumer grade routers, including TP-Link, do not have the option to block outbound traffic.
now there may be a workaround that you can try, simply port forward TCP 23 to a non existing IP address on the local network. this probably will not block outbound traffic but definitely should mess with the inbound.
