here is the issue at hand my modem has been poorly performing for the past week or so it gives me about 1mb in speed when i should be getting 8mb i have to remove the power and leave it there for 5 minutes for it to go back to normal after 30 minutes of usage it goes back to 1mb i heard the issue is with the modem memory not getting rid of the packets already on it just wondering if there is any fix that i can do my self instead of sending the modem to the isp.

also it seems like when i download torrents it clogs up faster

This appears to be the site for the latest firmware, but check the Sagemcom website for your particular country/region.

Also, if this is an ISP provided device, there is a chance that firmware updates is restricted by the user.

It could be a device on your network that is using up some of that bandwidth. For an 8Mb connection, it wouldn't take much to slow down your Internet access. So, it could be malware on a device or something downloading in the background (e.g. software update). You should be able to isolate it by disconnecting a suspected device and performing a speed test.

If it is actually the modem causing the problem, then it may need a firmware update or to be replaced. It would be helpful to know the make and model of the modem if you need more help.

so there is no other solution for it other than taking the device back :/ ? i was hoping maybe there will be some sort of setting that can be changed to make the memory flush it self every certain amount of time
