So I just downloaded and installed GTA 5 directly from Steam yesterday. My machine runs it great, getting around 100 fps on high settings. However, this is punctuated every so often with huge stuttering, where I can go down to as low as 5 fps for up to 2 seconds at a time. This issue most often occurs when I am driving, and while it still occurs when I'm just walking around, it's much less noticeable. Also, it seems to become worse and worse the more time I spend driving, as it's ok to start off with.
I've tried other's suggestions of adjusting certain settings within the Nvidia control panel, alt-tabbing in and out, and even just turning down the graphics, but none of these help. Does anybody know the solution to this?
My specs are:
i5 4690k OC'd to 4.1 GHz
2 GTX 760's in SLI
Driver 378.66 (The latest)
16 GB 1600mhz RAM
3TB 7200 RPM HDD (I have others too but this is what the game runs on)
