How to use headphones through microphone jack?

Hi. (I didn't know in which forum to ask this).

I have an old lenovo B570e laptop. While using headphones, when my brother tried to plug them out, a part of it broke and was stuck inside so I can't use it anymore.

Is there a way i could use some software for using headphones 3.5mm through mic jack or is my only option to take it to a pc tech expert at a shop.

could you made a small hook to get he connector out of the 3.5 mm plug . another thing you could try is to use a screw smaller then the 3 .5 mm hole in the connector to plull it out a few thread will do .

Some Realtek chips allow you to reassign the jacks. Open up the Realtek HD Audio panel and see if it allows you to.

If it does not, the only other option would be to manually do it through the registry, which doesn't work all the time and may cause hardware issues.

Thank you for your replies. Sorry for being late on replying.

Just a small portion is broken and it is way too deep. I tried to use a needle but it didn't work, so I don't think a screw will work.

I also couldn't find any option that allowed me to reassign jacks in realtek HD audio panel.

What hardware issues could occur if I change the registry?
