Ok, so first the specs for PC I'm trying to build with my 9yr old daughter:

Board: Z170A Gaming M3
BIOS: No clue, as nothing is turning on -.-
VGA: Nvidia GTX 970
PSU: EVGA 600W (Also tried Corsair 1000W & "Standard Issue" PSU from old Dell XPS)
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 7500
MEM: PNY Anarchy 8GB DDR4 x2
HDD/SSD: 1x SanDisk 250GB SSD 1x 1TB Seagate SATA
COOLER: Not sure about this one, as it was the one that came with the processor (can't find any specifics on it in the package)

Now, here is the issue:
- MOBO is not powering on... short and sweet!

What I've done to try to eliminate faulty parts:
- Reset CMOS; both pulling the battery for 1hr and placing the plug over the CMOS reset)
- Checked all plugs to ensure proper seating
- Tried with just 1 stick of RAM
- Tested all 3 (though one came out of my own custom PC and know it works) PSU's and all tested out just fine
- Check correct seating of CPU and made sure there were no bent pins
- Check the front panel plugs multiple times to ensure placed on correct pins
- Unplugged every component, minus CPU to see if it would power on (did with all 3 PSU's)
0 the weird thing about this test I did was that when I used the PSU that came with my Dell
XPS 8900, it has a small button on the back that lets you test power output, and when I
pressed that button the motherboard would power on. So when I tried to hook components
in one at a time to test, it wouldn't turn back on after first one was installed.
0 unsuccessful powering on with the other two PSU's (Which again I know work as one is my
PC's and the other I just bought today and tested it)

I'm at a loss now, as I can't seem to figure this problem out. It's weird that the old smaller PSU works for a short bit during testing and then stops, and the fact that the other two don't do that... weird.

I've read and seen about 3 LED lights that turn on when you board is powered, indicating either CPU, DRAM, or VGA faulty... but during all the test I've ran, I have not seen one of these LED's light up... even with the test that worked shortly and the board turned on, no LED's.

I've already contacted Amazon (don't hate, as I'm in Hawaii and there is no real local place to buy computer components) and requested a replacement, but I am still curious as to what the issue could be. I've built several PC's and had no issues, so this one is really eating at me... as my daughter has been stoked about having her own PC, and now we have to wait another two weeks for a replacement. Maybe someone can give me some advice while we wait, that will fix the problem.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this and possibly help get this PC up and running!

Solution
It needs a BIOS update for a Kaby Lake

It needs BIOS A9 to support that CPU

Core i5 Kabylake i5-7500 100 3.4 1M 6M B0 65 HD Graphics 630 1100MHz 7978vA9.zip

This is the 2nd to last BIOS update

Only way you can update. Buy / borrow a Skylake CPU it supports flash BIOS. Put this back in.

Take it to a shop and ask them to update it

Buy an updated BIOS chip on a site like EBay

Buy a Z270 mobo

Ok, Just send Amazon a request to cancel the replacement and give me a full refund and ordered a Z270 series MOBO. Thank you so much for that! I don't know how/why that went over my head... didn't even think that it was an issue. The seller said it supports 6th Gen CPU's, which to me meant that it was for 7th Gen but ALSO supported 6th Gen. I've never had an issue before as I've always done tons of research before I bought components for my own PC, but since this was just something me and my daughter were throwing together for her, we just went with the cheapest/best Mobo we could find.

Again, thank you so much for that quick response. Looks like she has to wait until Tuesday when the new board gets here.

If you buy a H110, Z170 mobo I'm 99.99% sure (and most the people here would say the same thing).

These mobos wont work unless you update the BIOS first.

And you'll have to do one of the above to fix it. If you want to use a Kaby Lake CPU

Altho, MOST Z270 mobos SHOULD support Kaby Lake CPU's out of the box, there have been 2 posts in here.

Where 2 people brought Z270 mobos.

Both of them still required a BIOS update

So there's a 50/50 chance of Kaby Lake CPU's working with Z270 mobos
