Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Impact
CPU: i5-6600k
Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.

Did fresh install and updated chipset as well as USB drivers.

Rear USB's are unresponsive (except for mouse and legacy XB1 Elite controller).

I plug in my keyboard and the lights come on but it does not type in Windows mode. It works in BIOS mode though!

I have triple checked drivers. Unsure of what to do next. Please give me some assistance on what to trouble-shoot or do next!

Solution
Did you install the Intel(R) Management Engine Interface drivers??

If you didnt install them, then try installing the USB 3 drivers on the ASUS site

I'm thinking this. Are you speaking about xHCI?

I have tried enabling and disabling it, but both don't help the issue.

Should I try this again?

Actually it was all a combination of what YOU suggested.

I had to install the 3/3.1 drivers after an update via windows updater. This allowed me to disable XHCI mode and install the Asus drivers.

Now the rear ports work.

On the other hand, my XB1 Elite controller (plugged) is now unresponsive.
