My computer I bought off of craigslist came with 1 80GB hard drive that I only use to boot up windows. It also came with a cd drive, however I have no use for it, so I plugged in a 1TB hard drive that was in my old laptop. Everything was fine for a few months, but today my 1TB hard drive refused to work I plugged it in to the other satan cable, changed the cord for power, made sure it wasn't the cables when my other hard drive worked just fine on the same cables. I have come to the conclusion that the hard drive is broken somehow. But when I turn on my pc it makes sorta a beeping or scanning sound that is like a continuous streak of quarter notes for 5 seconds (yes I counted). Any idea what might have happened, and how I can transfer the date to a different hard drive

No wonder it's broken... You've plugged it in the "satan" cable ;)

Yes, It most likely is broken by the sounds of it. Probably old age. Have you checked the BIOS to see if it still shows??
