Greetings,

I'm putting together a new build and am not getting any video output - no BIOS or anything. I'm not sure when the USBs should have power (always or after post), but my USBs fail to power a keyboard as well. The board has DVI and HDMI output. I've removed the GPU and am using the boards DVI output. Here's some things I've done:

  • ■ I've removed everything but the CPU and HSF and it beeped out memory error codes. Added RAM and it's completely quiet.
    ■ Thought it might be a power issue and swapped the PSU with a 1200W PSU. Same results all around. No video.
    ■ I read that the BIOS might need updating to support the CPU - I can't get the BIOS to come up in order to flash an upgrade (no video).
    ■ I've tried HDMI out and DVI out on two different monitors
    ■ Moved RAM to second B slot - same results

CPU - Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler - Thermaltake Engine 27 9.2 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard - Asus B150I PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard

Power Supply - EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Should my USBs have power?
Should I be able to get to my BIOS even if it needs an upgrade to support my CPU?
I don't have another stick of RAM to test with - but have one on the way. If my RAM was DOA, would it prevent all video output?

Any help is appreciated!

Solution
Yup it will it wont post if 0501 isnt on it now

Only way you can fix it. Buy / borrow a CPU 0402 supports. Then flash BIOS. Then put this in

Or take it to a shop

Or buy an updated BIOS chip on Ebay. Or buy a Z270 mobo
