Hi all

Had a small pc problem this morning . Was playing arma 3 nipped to the loo and could hear a hissing sound , then a pop . Went back into the bed room and there was a funny smell , not burning but more like an orthopaedic smell . The pc was off so I went to power it back on and it's completely dead . No power what so ever

Where do I start ?

500w psu
I5 4460
Gtx 970
16 gb corsair vengeance
Gigabyte motherboard

Glass or ceramic? If glass it might be a fuse blew when something failed.

That is an awfully low quality PSU, it really had no place in a gaming PC. My fear is that PSU has virtually no protection built in so the risk of damaging other components is greater but you won't know until you try a new PSU.
