Right now, everytime I play with friends games (like CSGO) I get 10-20MS more than them, which is just frustrating and I have no idea why, my net is 100mb and i have nothing on my network causing lag.

the only change i made to my net is changing the modem I had in my room to a modem which is also a TV Box and putting it in the living room.
However I am still connected wired by a router in my room, so is that what causing me high ping or is that not a possibility?

If I understand you correctly, right now you're connecting to a router in your room that is then connected to the modem in your living room. When the other modem was still in your room, were you plugged directly into it? Or were you still plugged into the router, and then the other modem?

http://windowsreport.com/high-latency-ping-games-windows-10/ can cause higher pings. Instead of sharing bits and pieces of pirated games you are sharing bits and pieces of Windows updates. Reduces the bandwidth they need to use. I mean Microsoft and their officers and executives are nearly broke. They gotta save money where possible.

Your ISP and your location differs from the other players. The hops( more about the bunny over here https://www.howtogeek.com/134132/how-to-use-traceroute-to-identify-network-problems/ ) will differ and so to will the ping.

i have a coxial cable plugged from the wall into the router, and then I am connected to the router by an ethernet cable.

when I had my modem in my room the coxial cable was connected directly to the modem and then there was an ethernet cable between the modem and my pc.

the problem is i dont really remember because i dont remember me comparing on old modem, i am just asking if its logically possible if connected directly to modem causes less lag then connecting via router. i could return to old modem in my room and then find out the ping is exactly the same because who knows maybe its not problem with the hardware in my house but the network quality ISP provides.
