Alright I'm trying in build my PC and I've come to a crossroads of sorts. Installing an Asus GTX 1070 strixs in a cooler Master elite 130 on am ASRock fatality z170 gaming itx/ac mobo. I've got the GPU in there and it won't go down any further without me applying force the back piece with the outputs is matched up with the screw wholes and is sitting flush. The problem I'm having is the when I look at where the GPU is plugged into the pcie slot on the Mobo I can see gaps where the PCB is cut out for installation like it's not put in all the way. The last time I installed a GPU was back in 2003 it was an FX 5700 and I don't remember gaps like that is this new is it just to accommodate different mobos. The lock on the slot is locked though... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to understand what you mean by gaps, It could just be the separate part to keep it locked in? Possible to get a picture? If not just try reinstalling it and making sure it's fully seated. Also make sure that your PC is reading it by going into Run typing dxdiag and checking under the display tabs, Or opening HWmonitor or any other program like that and checking if it is recognized.

I'm not sure how to upload pics on here. But you know how the part of the PCB that plugs into the PCI slot is notched in the middle and then it has a cut out for the little locking tab to go into they aren't flush even though I can't seem to get the card to go in further I'm afraid to put to much pressure on it because I might brake it. I work physically all day and a little pressure from me might be alot for thoughs parts I could see the Mobo shattering ughh

Cool I guess if it's not it just won't be detected when I do get to start it up. Just waiting on the DVD-RW to come in and I'll be able to finish the build. I knew that when I did my final order that the disk drive was going to some how come late... Can't wait to see her run for the first time
