Here is my build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xyHrPs still trying to narrow my gpu and screen choice down. I know I need to have g-sync and Im dreading the cost of it but I hear its good to invest there, now the the gpu will the 1070 do me good or should i step up to the entry level 1080 sc for 549? Not to mention i still need to get a keyboard and mouse picked out as well and open to ideas to that as well

Games my boys and I are looking to play
cod, watch dogs, sniper elite, city skylines, world of tanks and warships, american truck simulator,
halo, ark for my oldest son, need for speed hot pursuit, train simulator, battlefield 1

I don't comment on screen selection as it is subjective and each of us has visual preferences. Now on to Gsync, you don't *need* it but it has benefits, I think of it as a way to prolong GPU "life" by making lower framerates visually appealing as the system ages and games/software advance. Whether or not it is economical in that regard depends on the pricing I suppose though I consider it a *must* in a laptop due to the difficulty/inability to upgrade. As for a GTX 1080 versus GTX 1070? I run the former at your resolution and I'm happy, I don't think a 1070 will push 60 fps in all situations at max settings(I do not have Gsync on my desktop) in the games I play. If you define a budget perhaps we can advise a little better?
