will a new gpu work in this tour

Hi guys. i wonder if a GTX 1050 will work in a old Tour. specs:
hp compaq 8000 elite convertible minitower
Core 2 duo e8400
320 watts psu
6 go rams
but a pci e v1
i know its very bad but im planning to upgrade it little by little first buy a gpu then a newer motherboard and i3 6100

The 6gb of system ram, is that DDR3 or DDR2? The reason I ask is if you are planning to upgrade your motherboard and CPU then you'll be limited in choices if you plan to reuse the ram.

Today's computers are based on DDR4 system ram. So you are looking at buying new ram AND a motherboard AND a CPU AND a videocard...this is not an upgrade, this is building a new computer. That being the situation, if I was you I'd wait till I had the money to buy it all. Why buy a card now for a new system that you don't even have yet?

If you need or want to game on this current system, then I advise buying a used card, like a GTX 750 Ti. Spend as little as possible and treat this computer as disposable, once you get your new one then sell this old one.
