So, I have searched all over the place for many fixes but to no avail. I am forced to make a thread.

So, as the title says, I am getting terrible fps on CSGO despite the fact that my setup is very good. When I look at my usage during playing, I get about 40% RAM usage, 30% CPU usage and only 20% GPU usage on average. Also, the GPU usage jumps from 99% to 0% alot. Im getting about 100 fps and changing to higher resolutions or settings does not do any change to fps whatsoever. My friends at much worse setups are getting 200+ fps constantly. I have not yet found a working solution. Any help? Thank you, greatly appreciate it.

My Specs
GPU: AMD Radeon (TM) R9 380 Series (2GB)
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor (4GHz)
Memory : 16Gb RAM

CS: GO is single threaded. Meaning that it is only going to use one thread (in your case a core) for handling the game. The 8350 has 8 cores, but they are relatively weak. The only thing you can really do with your current CPU is try to get a strong OC on it. Most 8350s can get to 4.6GHz easily.

Really? Doesent it have a multicore rendering option in the menu + a -threads (Number of threads) command? Im quite surprised to hear this as most other games get held back by my GPU and so I though does CSGO.

Yep. I had a desktop with an 8350 at 5GHz and a 290X and I got around 100FPS max too. The system I have now gets around 300, even though the GPU is roughly the same.

Older games like CS: GO heavily relies on single thread performance, which the FX series is poor at.

AMD drivers are also single threaded as well, so that is putting more stress on your CPU as well.
