I've heard there's a new EVGA 1070 FTW2 launching soon. I am going to get a 1060 FTW+ in a couple of months for my first pc build, should I wait for newer versions or will there be a 1060 FTW2?

if you've got time to wait, then i'd keep an eye on prices and buy each piece when/if a good sale shows up. with AMD about to make a move, it is likely that cpu and gpu prices will shift in the next couple months. can't say if it will be up or down but they should move. but if you find an awesome price, then jump on itas i don't see prices moving a massive amount. so a $25 sale on a new i5 (happens from time to time) would be a good deal now and likely will be grater than any change the AMD cpu's bring about. and so on.

keep an eye out for super prices and buy then since you can wait. if no amazing deals show up, then you can simply buy everything in may when you got all the cash. power supplies are another thing that can get super...
The only difference with the new EVGA cards is an 'ICX' system which monitors other temperatures of components on the PCB, not necessary unless you're a water cooling temperature nut. :p
@Koreanoverlord, we have recieved 0 information regarding the new AMD cards as of yet, wait until they actually launch or get announced to speculate on performance, there's no point spreading false rumors or creating hope to hold out for the next big thing if it may not come.
Just sayin, there's been heaps of disappointments in the tech industry over the years, and AMD & Nvidia hype stuff up a tonne.
Sorry if I sounded rude, don't know how else to put it! :p

When will this release :)?

Speculated to be announced at the end of March at an AMD event, no details on performance as of yet.
" They will drive the prices down for all GPUs." This is an incorrect statement, ignore it for the time being".
You can probably expect them to be in the market for purchase by probably late Q2, Q3 2017.

if you check this thread it shows all the models of 10xx cards available http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html

the FTW2 cards have been announced already all the way to the 1060 card, and they are for sale. will be no performance gain but the new cooler is kind of neat and different. for the extra $10 for the 1070 version, it would be worth it just for the neat fan set-up. no price was out for the 1060 FTW2 when i looked last, but it is likely the same minimal extra cost. no reason not to.

as for the amd Vega cards, AMD said last month that we'd see Ryzen in march and Vega following a month after that, which is April. so that's what we're expecting but that's all we got so far. no pricing info, performance info or anything else thus far. but you can bet it will effect pricing in one way or another as any major release does. intel has already been making moves to combat ryzen and we have not even seen it yet. hence the HT Pentiums and unlocked i3 they just released.

is it worth waiting? if you got time to wait, then why not. if you're in need now, then don't bother. get what you can now. but if you can wait, why not, it's not too far off now.

I'm gonna order the pieces separately, I expect to have them all in may, should the GPU be the last piece I order?

ram prices are going up, so that may be worth buying now. same with ssd prices. all tied to limits of the memory chips they use. a good sale now is worth jumping on for those items.

if you have a microcenter near you, keep an eye on their combo deals. they have cpu/mobo deals al the time that are pretty great. often makes the mobo close to free!! everything else they sell is overpriced but those combo deals are pretty hard to pass up.

Yeah, I noticed that the ram memory i want has gone up around 20 dollars in the last couple months, was going to buy case first since it takes around to 1 or 2 months in shipping, then motherboard because its out of stock, but i'll try to pick up ram first before it gets any higher.
