In our house we have 2 laptops, 3 phones, 2 tablets, an xbox, and my custom built pc. The internet lately has been dropping signal to our products. So we call our ISP and had them come out they updated our router and put in a new modem. Well all the products in our house get around 60mbps but my computer. My computer is running 2mbps. Our ISP said it has something to do with my computer. I have looked up a couple of things but I still am clueless to what it could be. Please Help me ( I am not a proffesional).

Solution

Do this first, plug your computer directly into the router and test your internet speed. You should get close to your ISP 60mbps. (Use speedtest, net to try it). If everything checks out, next try and plug your powerline adapter into the same outlet as the router or close by, and check your speed again and see whether you get faster speeds there. Depending on how your house/apartment is wired, you could be on different patches or there may be interference that can degrade your signal quality. Try that out, and if it seems to be faster, try different outlets around and see which give you the best connection.
