HDMI to Displayport Issue

I own an LEN LI2821wa monitor which can run 4k at 60hz. I have it connected to my Laptop via HDMI which is an HP Envy x360 m6 convertible with an i7-6560u 2.20Ghz processor. So far, it will not let me run 4k at 60Hz on the monitor, it said something about not having enough bandwith, leaving me at 30Hz. So, i purchased an HDMI to Displayport adapter from SmartTech.com only to find that it doesn't work. What is my issue here, how can i fix this.

Reason why you can't get 60 Hz over HDMI @ 4K is because your laptop has HDMI version 1.4 and it supports max 30 Hz @ 4K resolution (look Chapter 1, page 3, Ports).

To get 60 Hz @ 4K over HDMI, your HDMI version should be 2.0.

There's nothing you can do to fix it. Only thing to do would be buying a laptop that has HDMI version 2.0.
