How do i make my cogames run faster and better?

I have a dell xps 8900 and i tried playing tomb raider and i was really laggy and slow. I want to know what i could do to my computer tower to make it run games faster and smoother.
Specs:
Nvidia geforce gt 730, intel core i7 6700/3.4 ghz, 16 GB RAM

Get a better gpu. The gt730 is a very poor gaming card. A better gpu may also require a new psu.

I'd say atleast a gtx 1050 as that should run with your current psu and will absolutely blow that 730 away in terms of gaming performance. But it depends how much you want/can spend.

Play Manic Miner instead that 730 will run that .
Only joking mate as OP said get a gtx 1050 or above then you'll be good.

I'd recommend a GTX 1050 Ti. It's the highest card available that requires no dedicated PSU connection, and powers off the slot. The extra memory and speed over the standard 1050 will help especially in more demanding games. Especially games like Tomb Raider.
