Every time I try to watch something online through my provider it automatically connects me from my old DIRECTV account which is no longer active so it doesn't let me view the show.. I have tried to sign out at the service provider screen but every time I click sign on it automatically signs me back into my old account. Does anyone know if DIRECTV is permanently linked to your IP? DIRECTV isn't even my ISP Comcast is.

If you have closed your account with DIRECTV then you will not be able to see those shows.

Comcast will provide you with an IP that will not be the same as an IP provided by DIRECTV.

[FYI: Via your browser go to "What is my IP". That should provide you with the IP address being provided by Comcast. Do not post that IP address.]

Something may still be defaulting to "old DIRECTTV" versus Comcast.

The default may be in URL form and reference DIRECTV in some manner: e.g., www.directv.com/

What are you "watching" with? Hardware, software....?

Look through your devices and application configuration settings. Purge links to DIRECTV.

so I cleared everything in my browser (watching on my PC) that had to do with directv, and as soon as I try to watch like an AMC livestream on AMC's website I get this http://imgur.com/a/Mlkaz I tried on a different browser and still getting the same thing. That's why I believe it's linked to my IP or something. Also when I click directv in the list of providers when it ask me to sign in it doesn't give me the option to put in her account info it just puts in my old info automatically.

Update: So once I turned on my VPN it asked me to sign in, so it does have something to do with my IP or something within those parameters.

That response is simply that.

You are not being recognized as a customer for the account or service being requested.

If you have the correct account information you should be able to log in independent of the device (and its IP) being used.

What browser(s) are you using? Why is a VPN being used and who is "her account"?

Are you now remotely accessing someone else's computer and trying to use their AMC service?

Not really able to help if that is the case.
