Hey all,

2 issues:

1. I was doing my build and was trying to troubleshoot why my Graphics Card's starts up then stops with no signal when plugged into HDMI. I have my HDMI set on my tv/monitor that was using to test it and it is connected to the MOBO. Why is it not getting a signal? Was trying to use the HDMIt until I got a new monitor/DVI adapter for VGI.

2. While trying to take out my GPU to troubleshoot the issue above my GPU is now stuck half way into the PCI slot. I unlocked the tab on the PCI slot and it locked back up while trying to take out the GPU out. It's stuck in the PCI on the lock side (right side). The Left side is half way out. I tried to push the left side back in but seemed like too much pressure on the PCI and the MOBO itself. Tried to push the lock down with a screwdriver while pulling the GPU out but again seemed like it wasn't budging and the pressure would seem to break the lock, GPU, PCI or the MOBO.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to screw this up more than it already is.

Here is my set up:

Solution

look at the inside of the pcie slot for damage

your motherboard has another silver pcie slot, test the card in that one

Update:

Was able to pull out my GPU with a little force but nothing broke thank goodness. Once I took it out along with one of my memory stick it started up. I'm installing windows now and praying when I put my GPU back in all with be right as rain. If you have any suggestions as to why my GPU isn't working it would still be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Thank you so much for your response Max. Didn't see any damage on the first PCI or the GPU. Tried it in the second PCI slot and still a no go. Onboard graphic works just fine without the GPU in at this point. I'm still pretty green about building a new computer. Last one I build was 2011 so I'm afraid im missing something simple that is going to drive me nuts later. Any other options? Power supply cable set up? I have 1 6 & 6 + 2 going into VGA 1 and tried to put it in VGA 2.

Update: Wooooo Hoooo it works!!!! Did the following from you tube. Long story short go in and disable your connection from the onboard graphics in device manager. Then plug in your HDMI to the GPU.........

yes, you can get something like msi afterburner if you rather make your own fan profile though if you dont like that particular function

glad you got it sorted

nothing like the satisfaction of final victory after things going wrong

Dude you know it! Thanks again for the response

It does sound like you made the simple novice mistake of installing the GPU but leaving the monitor HDMI cable plugged into the motherboard ?? Which generally gets disabled when you plug in a PCI express GPU automatically.

All good though & happy gaming.
