Hey guys, doing a new build here and would love your input!

I need a pc for basic games, LoL, WoW, maybe something a little more intense as well. I had my eye on something like a 1070 or 1060, dont wanna oc the CPU and would like to do some video editing as well.

Any suggestions for which CPU/MoBo would compliment this?

The final Budget is 800ish USD including the monitor, so 700USD for all the components.

Thanks a bunch in advance :>

I would recommend either an i5-7500 w/ an H270 board or an i5-6500 w/ an H110 board. Together with a 1060, these CPUs will eat through most AAA titles and easily plow through LoL and WoW.

However, I would wait for Ryzen, which launches in a week and a half. AMDs new CPUs may not be better in IPC, but they come very close (within 2%), and more importantly, the prices of CPUs and motherboards alike will fall (leaks say 4 cores/4 threads will only cost $129!).

Obvious picks right now are:

1) Pentium G4560 - ~$60 but out of stock most places, 2c/4t CPU, performs something like 75% as well as a Core i5, terrific value

2) Core i5 7500 - ~$200, entry level quad core which will provide a perfect 60fps in 90% of titles

3) Core i7 7700 - ~$300, Intel's top mainstream CPU, 8 hardware threads and your best choice if you're looking for 120-144hz gaming

4) Wait to see what AMD's first new CPU design in years (Ryzen) brings to the table when it's released next month

Any of the Intel CPUs can be paired with an inexpensive B250 or H270 motherboard, which will run you something like $65-90, depending on the features you want.
