Need help with my build's CPU purchase.

Hello all. New to the game here. Need a little advice. My build so far is:

Corsair CX750M
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H (LGA1155)
EVGA Nvidea GTX 970
2x 4GB RAM sticks

I just need help in picking a CPU that will be able to handle a lot of tasks (streaming, editing, etc) and last a few years. Just wondering if there is any advice on what I should be going for?

For the CPU and cooler my top spend would be around £300 but if I could save money and get the same performance from an older CPU I'm game for suggestions!

Any other suggestions about changing the motherboard or getting more RAM would be welcome too as I understand it is a little older, but if I can still use it I most certainly will. Saves me quite a bit of cash.

Just about any i7 should do the trick on multitasking, but if that's a bit much on your wallet I use an i5 and i do just fine with both gaming and editing and I rarely stream. If you do streaming often I highly recommend an i7 to reduce lag for the viewers. You could also use the cooler that comes with the processor but nobody really likes that, any liquid cooler from a popular brand does just fine. I'd also recommend you'd get an SSD but it isn't mandatory.
