So I'm building a PC fo 1080p gaming. Whether I should g for GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 given that I won't be upgrading to 1440p monitor anytime soon.
I'm a bit skeptical about GTX 1060 as I'm not sure if it'd be able to provide me 60fps or even 50fps in future titles on 1080p ultra preset.

Admirable
For current games with 60FPS Ultra, GTX 1060
For 144FPS Ultra, GTX 1070

With that said, yea. As games tend to get more and more demanding, it's quite obvious the 1060 won't be able to withstand Ultra settings and 60FPS in the future. But how much time are we talking about? That we don't know.

So, if you get more proof with the upcoming games but waste it's full potential right now because of the limitation of your monitor, the 1070 is a good option.
If you don't want to waste money getting a stronger card that your monitor won't be able to handle, the 1060 is way to go.

IMO, i'd go with the 1070 if you have the money.

You do know that their almost 0 difference in ultra and high usually ultra is just a bragging thing.
I don't really try to future proof a video card when about anything you buy now will need replaced in a couple of years anyhow to keep up with demands

Total budget including the monitor is 75,000 INR which is roughly $1100

Maybe I'll be upgrading to a 1440p screen but probably not this year for sure. Maybe next year's summer. I guess R9 Fury X would be considerable here given that its cheaper than GTX 1070 and better than GTX 1060

I guess 4gb is just enough for ultra preset gaming and that should keep me set for almost like a year or two maybe?
