Hello everyone my name is Ray and I would like to share with you my system specifications.

My build

MB: M4A785-M

GCard: Amd Radeon R9 280x (Saphire Vapor x 3gb gddr5 it has like 3 fans on it)

Processor: Amd Phenom II x 6 1090T Black Edition

Heatsink is copper pipes single fan

9Gb of Ram DDR2

800 watt Power supply

Currently i just upgraded to Windows 10 and wanted to experience the cross platform gameplay. So i downloaded Gears of War 4 and was gaming for a hours the first couple of days then all of a sudden my games started to freeze. This has happened to me before the upgrade so I thought maybe i just need to blow out the dust so i did but the problem persist I downloaded speed fan and ran Gears again until it crashed.

Here a snap of speedfan during the crash.

I looked up recommended temperatures for my build and from what I read my GPU running around 60 is fin but the cpu does seem to be running hot. All my cores are unlocked unleashing mode is enabled in bios. All my clock setting are set to auto because I am not a overclocker. I would like some advice if anyone can offer anything helpful. I also see that my fans are running hot and would like to know more about that. I dont want to mess with any settings without a little guidance.

I applied a small glob to the center Im not sure if I applied enough though this was the 2nd time I applied TIM to this processor..

You can easily determine that just by checking temps with a decent tool like CPU-Z before and after unlocking it.

I have the 4 cores on my i7-950 unparked with a 3rd party tool, but it didn't raise temps that much really. Not sure if same is true with your CPU though.

So after reapplying thermal paste the temp rose to 70 still durring gaming and rose to 74 before a total system crash this time. I used less paste than i did before and cleaned the old paste off thoroughly, with a coffee filter. I used less paste than I had used before. Right now I have the cores back on 4 and I am going to game again for another test. I am highly doubtful that it will make a difference.

Still waiting for the results at 4 cores, and no snapshot link btw. I also can't really determine anything until I know what cooler you're using. If you could take a pic of that it would help.

Also, I assume when you clean off the old TIM you're using more than just the coffee filter, like 90% isopropyl alcohol?

I did not use Alcohol I did decide to buy a new heatsink currently waiting for it to come will update once ive put it to the test. 4 cores did not change anything the temp rose to 70 Celsius and programs crashed
