Hey everyone. This is my first time posting to a tech site so sorry if it looks a little weird. I built my first computer about 2 years ago and i recently gave it a massive upgrade about 6 months ago. Everything has been working fine and i was very happy with it until a few days ago. Now its developed this weird issue when i turn it on where it only turns like, halfway on. The system posts and the motherboard, cpu, and cpu fan seem to power on just fine. However, my gpu, peripherals, and even case fans do not power on. My guess is that this is a problem with the PSU or the motherboard but im honestly not sure. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Solution
"just a pretty cheap bronze rated rosewill 1000W PSU."

Yeah. I'm thinking that PSU is not able to handle your 6700k, 1080, and other components. I'd get a new PSU ASAP. I recommend EVGA Supernova PSUs, affordable and extremely high quality. 1000w could be considered 'overkill', but it does give lots of wiggle room for upgrades you'll probably not make for years. 700-750 watts is a nice amount.

Oh ya. Sorry haha. I guess that'd be important. These are the parts im running right now:
Intel i7 6700k
Asus Maximus Hero viii
GTX 1080 EVGA FTW edition
G.skill trident RAM
and honestly just a pretty cheap bronze rated rosewill 1000W PSU.

hopefully the issue is with the PSU because, now i know more about computer parts, and now i know that an 1000W PSU is waaay overkill so im looking to get a more suitable one.

Thanks for the info. The EVGA supernova line is actually what im looking at right now so hopefully that will solve the issue. I was really hoping it wasnt the motherboard since im really loving this motherboard and I didnt want to go through the hassle of an RMA
