Hello.
Since I've bough my laptop I had some weird issues with my HDD. I'm using m.2 SSD for system and HDD for storing data. My HDD is 1TB Seagate ST1000LM024. The problem is that my secondary HDD causes stuttering when accessed after some idle time.
It's most noticeable in games, while games that use HDD all the time are smooth, games that load the necessary data at once, then they don't use the HDD at all for some time but after some time there's a moment when they want to load something, for example audio file for specific voice, in this moment the game stutters.

Things like that basically happen when trying to access HDD after not using it for some time. I can hear HDD spinning up in these times.

I tried the option "Turn off hard disk after: Never" and it didn't help at all.
Temperature is ok.
SMART doesn't look wrong, here's the screnshot: http://i.imgur.com/c9c6uzg.png

I guess that if I had the system on my HDD, it would never cause problems like that because it wouldn't be able to stay idle however that's not the point of having SDD+HDD. I couldn't find the answer for that exact problem. Could anyone help me with this?

Since laptops can run on battery, it is a requirement of the laptop manufacturer to use as little power as possible.

Therefore, the FW of the drive is designed to spin down the drive after a certain amount of ideal time independent from the Windows settings.

Is it possible that it happens also when connected to the charger? I have an Asus GL552VW laptop, I know that when using battery it has reduced performance and I can feel it very well but I thought that when connected to charger it would ignore all power saving features, especially on "high performance" mode. Is there an option to somehow keep writing something(and deleting it) on the HDD to keep it from spinning down?
