HI, so I've had my PC for over a year now and i finally got around to upgrading my CPU's cooler from the stock fan to an corsair H60 (I'm 16 so i usually upgrade my PC when i get the money and opportunity to) and was wondering if i could overclock my CPU safely with the current parts in my PC. I want to at least overclock it to 4Ghz Here are my PC part's

CPU: AMD FX 6300 6-core black edition 3.5GHz
CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H60
RAM: EVGA 1600 Superclocked DDR3 (4GBx2)
MOBO: MSI 970 gaming
GPU: Asus R7 370 2GB
PSU: Corsair CX 430
Storage: WD blue 7200RPM 64MB

Here are my PC temps and all that good stuff

after about 2 hours gaming (which is what I'm doing on this PC 90% of the time:)):

if there is any more info that will help you help me I'll be happy to provide it.

that 970 has a 6+2 power phase, which while not terrible - isn't considered enough for enthusiast overclocking.

You should be fine in squeezing a bit out of the CPU though, and 4 is pretty modest really.

Take it slow and you should be fine. mainboard temp monitors are not all that common and usually not all that accurate or relevant. If your VRMs are overheating - its going to be difficult to tell.

That said who cares? Its an older board and you're squeezing life out of it. A little added heat to the VRMs isn't going to kill it any time soon.
