Hello, I posted yesterday in the Windows 10 section about getting BSOD every boot. After a lot of trial and error I came to the conclusion it might be a faulty MOBO.

What happened so far:
-Windows crashes into BSOD
-Computer stuck in a BSOD reboot loop
-Ran memtest86+. No errors.
-Tried booting from a windows installation usb. BSOD
-Tried running with just 1 stick of ram and cpu from windows USB. BSOD
-Tried booting ubuntu from usb. Error screen (http://imgur.com/a/pGg2l)

The windows BSOD is system thread exception not handled and kmod exception not handled. BIOS works just fine.

Any help is appreciated.

My hardware:
gigabyte z170x gaming 7
intel i5 6600k
kingston hyper x 2x8gb
asus geforce gtx 1060

Tried running with just 1 stick of ram and the cpu from windows USB. BSOD (Literally no hardware but MOBO, cpu, ram and the usb)

I did. I ran it using the onboard. Nothing was on the MOBO but the CPU and the stick of ram.

The HDD isnt the problem. I have tried to boot straight from a USB with no HDD (with ubuntu) and it still gives me an error screen. I cant reformat, clean install either because trying to boot the windows install usb causes a BSOD as well.

You can use media creation tool to create an iso on your computer so you can burn it to a cd/whatever else
