So I am doing a upgrade to my computer. I am switching from AMD to Intel. So new cpu and motherboard. I am also going to install a fresh copy of windows 10 onto a SSD. My question is I am wanting to reuse my old 1tb hard drive still. But it has windows 10 currently on it. Would there be a conflict between the SSD and the old 1TB hard drive since they would both have a copy of windows 10 on them. How would I go about wiping the 1TB drive that has windows 10 on it before switching over to the new build. If i wipe the 1TB drive before the build would that cause any issues in the future build.

Solution
To make it easy, install Windows on the SSD without the HDD connected. Then connect the HDD and once in Windows it should show as a secondary drive, likely D:, then you can just right click it and format. This will wipe it clean and make it available as a storage drive.

There shouldn't be any conflicts doing it this way as the SSD will be set as the boot drive.

I would just keep Windows 10 on your 1TB drive for now. Unplug the 1TB drive and connect the SSD then Install Windows 10. After you are all set with the SSD re-connect the 1TB drive and make sure the SSD drive is set up as the first boot device in the BIOS. Your PC will boot to your SSD as if Windows wasn't even on the 1TB drive. After you are sure you are ok, you can delete the Windows directory of the 1TB.
