The corsair 500R case I have has a large side fan and anoter fan in the back probably 120mm so where exactly do you connect these fans to the mobo if I do not want to use the fan controller add in card?

Solution
Any of the fan headers would work. You could use the ones on the motherboard or the ones on the fan extension card. The headers have a plastic tab on them to properly align a 3-pin connector to them. I suggest you write down what header you use for what fan to make your life easier when setting up the BIOS.

sad to say, all the fans int he corsair case are three pin the only fan that is four pin is the one I am using for the CU cooling so which side of the four pins do you start the three pin connection???Same with the add in card that came with the motherboard, they are all four pin connections Way confusing

so if I use the fan extension card then it should be okay even though it is three pin to four pins on the card?I didn't get to bring up the bios because this has had me occupied but thanks for the answer
