Hello, I Have the N550JV-DB71 and need to upgrade my RAM. It is currently at 8gb and I am running into issues while running photoshop, after effects, C4D etc etc. I want to upgrade to 16gb, 8gbx2 which is max. and all I can find is what crucial.com suggests which is

Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 SODIMM
CT7765836
DDR3 PC3-14900 • CL=13 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1866 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •
upgrade for ASUS N550JV system.

I want to get as much bang as possible but looking at gaming ram options it seems that none of it matches either the 204 pin or some other spec. I am new to this so go easy, My bday is coming up and wife wants to buy this for me. ty all.

Ty for the reply. Iam just wanting the fastest ram possible for my situation. Am I looking too hard here or at the price point of the ram at this level are the numers arbitrary? I am using my laptop sometimes 10 or more hours a day so I need to make the right descision. Thinking you guys know the best brand/performer currently on the market. Ty for your continued assistance, all the best.

As that's a laptop it doesn't give you any latitude to OC or put faster memory so practically any make would do same job. All it has to be is with these : DDR3 PC3-14900 • CL=13 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1866 • 1.35V. Memory performance doesn't actually figure too much in overall performance.

So basically keep it simple, the crucial will do pretty much the same as any? I was just wondering about that CL13, I am total new to this but i read the higher the number the slower? This must look hilarious to you, shit, I remember asking newb questions when I started shooting, honest I have been trying to read up, but all the manufacturers want you to buy the biggest and best. I just want my workflow to speed up.
