PNY GeForce 1050 2GB Fan not turning on

Hi Everyone,

Question, I am playing Fallout 4 on medium graphics and i can see that my video card temp is running at 80c-83c and the fan is not spinning at all. Now the game is running perfectly smooth, no problem at all, but i don't want to cause damage to my video card. Is this normal for this card to be running at 83c and the fan not spinning?

8GB Ram

The on die GPU core temperature sensor may not always accurate, as I mentioned before

1. Bad QC fan
you can unplug VGA fan and plug to your motherboard fan header to confirm fan's faulty.

2. Fan is OK
Either VGA PCB faulty (not passing power to fan) or software related (try afterburner or precisionXOC) those have fan controller.

3. Contact PNY
If those two show fan is running while it actually not, maybe some fanless mode (not spin until core+VRM+VRAM are hot enough).

4. Damn good heatsink design
GTX 1050Ti's not quite hot as GTX 1060 or higher, perhaps your room temp is cold enough and your case has good positive airflow.

Either the cable of GPU cooler's fan is not working or the fan it self, worst is VRM damage. You can use MNPC fan holder, the holder can mount 140 or 120mm fan, remove the GPU's fan shroud so fan from mounted on holder will replace original PNY fan. Although some sample can withstand up to 90° C without getting freeze or artifact, using at high temperature will fasten VRM degradation gradually, worst scenario is fry motherboard someday.
If you have budget, there're aftermarket GPU air cooler, With Raijintek Morpheus II Core Edition, your GTX 1050 probably doesn't need fan (passive cooling) with Morpheus.

Mikel,

Well before i do make any changes to my video card i would like to know at what temp is the fan supposedly go on. Also does anyone know of any software i can use to manually force the fan to turn on to see if it even does work?
