I know someone who is going to upgrade their GPU and will likely want to get rid of their current card, which is a EVGA GTX 950 SCC, This is the exact card I have. My current MOBO only supports AMD Crossfire technology, so I would assume their would be no advantage to having this second card. Would this be correct? Without the SLI, I assume the cards would do nothing together.
I any case, I would rather consider upgrading my system to maybe a 1060 if anything. He hasn't decided on a price, but I don't think there would be any advantage to my buying it.
Would I be correct?

Solution
Unless the motherboard supports sli its a no go. However sli of 2 low end cards is a horrible idea, you introduce all the downsides of sli when single equally strong or stronger cards are available.

I really couldn't see a good reason to have the second 950 so I already opted out. I really am considering upping to something better for my rig come tax refund and relegating the 950 to my lesser build. It's only sporting a very low end card I think is a GT 210?
