Okay so, i bought a completely new pc, with a 2TB WD Green HDD, and a 850 evo 250gb.

The problem begins when my pc starts to read my hdd, this annoying scratching sound comes up (I checked it was my hdd). First i thought it was a hardware issue, until my new one came in... i hooked up my new one and it was so quiet, i was happy. Then i transferred my files onto my new HDD, when it was done, restarted my pc, and there it was... that annoying scratching noise coming from my brand new HDD whom was silent when empty...

So my question is, "Can it be that a corrupted file is the reason it makes these noises?"

Kind Regards,
Nekkie

Solution
Hey there, Nekkie.

Sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your drives.

A corrupted files shouldn't cause problems like that. I'd suggest that you backup your important data, just to be on the safe side. After that go ahead and test the drive/s with DLG by running both Quick and Extended tests, to see if anything out of the ordinary pops-up: Testing a drive for problems using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows.
You should also try the drive with a different SATA port and different cables, to see if the issue still persists. It would be even better if you could give it a go with a different computer as well.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
