4Gb ram enough for gaming

after my cpu started overheating and nothing could fix it not even an better cooler i decided to build a very cheap second hand game pc these are the parts: asus p5kpl 1600(supports max 4gb ram)-cpu:core 2 quad q8200 and 4gb ram paired with an evga gtx 560 ti 2gb ddr5 and an antec case and an antec 500w 80plus psu my question now is will this pc handle gaming well and will the 4gb ram be an issue beceause all of this only costed me around 75 euros to get so it was a real deal

You will be severely memory limited in quite a few situations on bf4, not sure about CS:GO (I think not)as that is not a demanding game. Also, you will be held back by both the cpu and gpu in demanding games, especially bf4 (perfomance also depends on the cpu). Taking this into account: You can replace you 4gb with a larger capacity dimm (or dimm's like a 2x4gb kit) as I think you mobo is dual channel but in you case I would say just wait and save for a new pc. P.S. I know you got a good deal on this one but it is pretty dated at the moment.


Those games will run on your pc but some (like GTA V and Assasins Creed - I assume you are reffering to the latest AC Syndicate which has a min 6gb of ram requirement) not very well considering your specs, or may not run at all. I would save some money and get a new pc altough on the short term you could add another 4gb of ram (same model, frequency and latency).
