See if they are int the recycle bin, if not then see if Recuva can find them.
For the future, keep in mind that all important files need to have a backup. A backup is a copy of the file kept on another device. Hopefully a device that can be completely disconnected and powered off. All storage devices fail sooner or later and we need to plan for this event. The more copies of important files you have, then the safer they are from being lost.
