Hi there. I recently purcashed an ASUS x79 deluxe motherboard after coming to the conclusion that my old one no longer worked. However now that I have instaled it when I power on my computer it doesn't give any beeps. The GPU's fan spins for a second before failing. The system then shuts down and it does this over and over again as if trying to startup.
PC Specs:
CPU: Intel i7-3820
Motherboard: Asus x79 deluxe
GPU: EVGA Nvidia 1060
Memory: 16gb (4x4gb) dd3 Kingston Hyperx Blu
PSU: Corsair 750w

Any help would be greatly appreciated as to why my computer won't start up.
I've already tried clearing the cmos, I've reseated the gpu and tried so in different slots.
I've tried changing the ram around and trying out different slots

see your kinda down to psu or cpu now you pretty well cut it all down to them parts

true the board bios should support that 660 no issue and your CPU is listed under all bios so that should not be a issue ..

memory try one stick each incase its one of the sticks

with the board the cpu one stick of memory the psu and that gtx 660 and your keyboard with the bios at default like it is when you pull it out of the box new it should boot in to bios and display with out issue .

?? may try with out the keyboard if its shorting in the usb and affecting something ??? but .....

well maybe with that NVidia 10series card you may need that latest bios to support it ?? that a common thing with older boards and these newer cards. does it do this with your older card or can you find a older card like a gtx 600 series a buddy may have to try ?

asus has a new bios release for 2016 that may be key on that deal

maybe the psu is what is failing ? maybe just failing to supply the board if it was handed down from your old board with issues ??

thing is what ever parts you handed down from your old failed board / build could be at blame ??

seen a few like here was the card was bad ??

http://forums.evga.com/GTX-980-Ti-won39t-post-on-an-ASUS-X99-Deluxe-m2345855.aspx

may need to test your card in another capable system/ computer

Apologies, i neglected to mention that I tried my old gtx 660 in along with a 710, neither of which worked.
Along with this, the psu is only a month old so I doubt it's that as well.

''psu is only a month old so I doubt it's that as well''

that don't mean nothing look how many can get a bad unit new out of the box and have to rma ???

do you know if maybe the CPU has failed or damaged over time ???

thing is seeing your old board failed and now you new one also failed may need to look at anything your reuseing , see may not of been your old motherboard to start with or if it failed may of damaged any part attached to it along with it ??

you have to come up with some kind of process of elimination of the components . or we can guess at things all day and then with out a replacement part to try and test to prove kinda point less ..

maybe something simple as a PSU plug not properly plugged in or not making good contact to something more expensive like the CPU is bad ??

My PSU was previously able to supply power to my computer and turned it on with the old motherboard. As for the cpu, I'm not sure, yet I also doubt it is this as my computer was able to startup somewhat with the old motherboard. However to be sure, how would I know if something is wrong with the cpu? As for a PSU plug not properly plugged in, I've already tried to take all the plugs out, and plug them back in firmly as to ensure they're properly seated

''I also doubt it is this as my computer was able to startup somewhat with the old motherboard'' some what is not all the way and stable .

if me I guess maybe un hook all not needed to boot to bios screen [remove all but one memory and put it in the slot for single stick use - un hook hard drive from motherboards sata port and psu , and only have the keyboard in use as for as any devices in any usb ports or add in cards ]

then Clear CMOS and re start [may try the old gpu at first ] with that you should at least start up normally in to and display the bios [then you can see what bios revision is on the board as well ] like I said for the latest cards you may need the latest bios release to support them but hold off on that for now .

if all seems good on that the add one stick of memory at a time and test that pre each the with 2 sticks at a time in there proper slots , ect....

then if all that checks out try then with the gtx 1060 .. if it fails and you know your board got a old bios on it then you may need to flash to the latest

then if all that works hook up the hard drive and reinstall windows .

I attempted unhook everything that wasn't needed and tested to se if it wold turn on yet the same thing still happened (It wouldn't boot)
As it won't boot, I don't think I can get into the BIOS, correct? The board doesn't seem to work with any of the three graphics cards I have tried and so while the motherboard may need a bios update for the 1060 to work, I doubt it would need one for my old 660ti and so I'd like to at least see the computer boot. Any other advice or steps I could take?

one more thing is you mat need to remove your CPU to see if you did not get any bent pins when you installed it
