Hello friends,

I'm going to buy an external 4tb HDD.

I'm a very much confused between WD My Book 4TB External Hard Drive ( http://www.amazon.in/WD-Book-External-Drive-Black/dp/B01NBQPWF9/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1487693848&sr=1-1&keywords=wd+my+book+4tb )

& Seagate Expansion STEB4000300 4TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive ( http://www.amazon.in/Seagate-Expansion-STEB4000300-External-Drive/dp/B00UWS6YG4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1487694946&sr=8-3&keywords=seagate+4tb+external+hard+disk )

Which one is more RELIABLE & consistent?
What is the warranty of the Seagate expansion 4tb? (The WD has 3 years warranty as written on their website.)

I'm not much bothered about reading & writing speeds of the external HDD which I'm going to buy.

My only goal is to buy a drive which will perform consistently over the coming years (though I know that any electrical component can fail anytime).

Personally I am using 2 green internal WD HD drives - 160 Gb (for nearly 8 yrs) & 2 TB (nearly 2 yrs age) without any issue ever.
Personally I have no experience with Seagate.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
The seagate has a 2 year and the WD 3 year. They both have about the same fail rate. The real trick is determining which from each company is good vs lemon.
