had a look seems you guys like the uk pay a lot more than the usa

the swiftech h240x2 is under 200--though probably not the prestige models

though no idea if you bought direct from swiftech with the shipping or any customs charges etc if you would get a better price than a canadian retailer

Thanks for the quick reply, manddy123.

I am glad everything is good and works together. Are these SSD'd good aswell? That evo doesn't have 2day shipping with prime to canada, thanks. SSDS> https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00S9Q9VS4/ref=dp_cerb_2 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00A1ZTZNM/ref=dp_cerb_1

I don't plan on overclocking my CPU as it would void the warranty. So I'm not sure if that would still require a better cooler. What would you suggest? I don't want to spend more than 120 CAD on it? Right now the entire build is priced at $2773.97
CAD

no need to get a K cpu if you dont want to overclock

I am getting the K version so that in the future aka when my warranty runs out I and i actually NEED to overclock it for the cpu to stay relevant I will buy a better cooler with it.

fair enough--cant help much with which air cooler havent used one in years so whats best now is outside my field a bit

as to best gtx1080 guess that depends what you mean by best

and it may be a bad time to buy a gtx1080 with gtx1080ti and amd new cards in the offing

though last i looked was still all rumours how good these will prove to be

I have waited too long for a new pc. Currently I am running on an old amd fx-670k and a gtx 960. Games run horribly. I don't want to wait any longer. From the benchmarks I have seen this ZOTAC amp extreme edition gtx 1080 will satisfy my needs of playing at 1080p and even 1440p at 144hz.

What I mean by best 1080 is the biggest boost clock the gpu can offer without any overclocking.

If I were to switch to water cooling I would only go closed loop. I am nervous enough to have any liquid around my extremely expensive rig as it is. I was looking at was the corsair h55 or the H80i GT or Kraken X41

just looked again looks like amd and nvidia plan some sort of reveal both 1 week from today

though until i see one in the hands of a trusted/respected reviewer i never totally go by what they show at these reveals since what ever they use is always

chosen to show their product in the best light

though if amd can really get competitive this time around it would be interesting

i am not a fan boy of either i will buy the best card from who ever makes it but amd have been sadly lacking for a while now in my opinion

other way round for me i only want quality components in my watercooling

not the sort of stuff used in most AIO units

swiftech and the ek predator being the only AIO i would even consider

Yeah I only care about performance and tempuratures. I have seen that a hyper 212 evo was able to cool the i7 6700k just fine without any overclocks. My friend also has the 6700k with the 212 evo and he told me temps were fine. Should I still go with water cooling?

what closed loop water cooler would you recommend for under 200 CAD

no idea of canadian prices

but for AIO i only go for swiftech or ek predator they

1--use far better quality components than most AIO

2--are expandable should you ever want to get more into watercooling

if those are out your price range then corsair etc i guess

It's good, but I would personally go for the Gigabyte G1 or the MSI TwinFROZR VI. I'd stay away from EVGA currently until they get the bugs associated with ACX 3.0 sorted out.

I'd stay away from liquid entirely. Air is usually safer and far less prone to error than a liquid cooler is. No liquid cooler on the market is immune from errors or poor build quality.

and yes liquid cooling is a personal choice

it can be about the aesthetics as well as the cooling

personally i dont like having a kilo or even more with some coolers of metal hanging on my motherboard

as well as in some cases it might cause problems blocking ram slots even the top pci-e slot in some cases

yes theres less can go wrong with an air cooler as the fan/fans are the only mechanical part

though i use 2 pumps any way just in case of pump failure

at the end of the day its up to the individual user which way they want to go far as i can see air or water both have pros and cons
